Why do the horses wear jackets in the summer? Why are they blind folded?

As you may know, with horses come flies. Bug spray only lasts so long, so the horses that need a little extra fly protection get to wear mesh protective coverings. They can see through the masks on their faces no problem! The masks also act like sunglasses for the horses that have sensitive eyes.

What makes a horse need extra protection?

Allergies, being prone to sunburn, or too short of a tail to swat those flies with!
