Early summer is a beautiful time of year to work outside! But when temperatures soar, being aware of the precautions to take can make the difference between wrapping up the day on the front porch with a cold glass of iced tea, or in the ER with heat stroke.

For tips on how you can remain safe while working outside this season, check out this post from the White County Indiana Health Department and OSHA!

Working outside in the heat? OSHA recommends as well as allowing more frequent breaks for acclimatizing workers, such as new employees or those who have been away from the job for a week or more.

This milestone represents countless hours of hard work, dedication, learning, and growth. More importantly, it reflects the incredible community that has come together to make the Café what it is today.

To our members: thank you for showing up, sharing your stories, supporting one another, and helping create a space built on belonging, hope, and recovery. The Comeback Café exists because of you.

To our volunteers, partners, donors, supporters, and community champions: thank you for believing in this vision and investing in a place where everyone is welcome and recovery from anything is possible.

To celebrate this achievement, we invite you to join us for our official Café Dedication! This special event will honor the journey that brought us here, recognize those who helped make it possible, and celebrate the future of recovery, wellness, and community connection in White County.

The Good Samaritan Project's Annual Cancer Survivor Tea is coming up soon, and you're invited!

Join this uplifting celebration from 11:30 to 2:00 on June 13th at the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette, located at 102 South 10th Street, to enjoy dance lessons, a butterfly release, tea luncheon, live music, and free swag bags.

An eviction in one's rental history can make it difficult to find new housing--which, for many survivors of domestic violence, means another barrier to a life free from abuse.

If this is the situation you find yourself in, don't miss the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) Legal Pro Se Clinic TODAY from 11:00am-12:00pm on Zoom. This legal clinic is an opportunity for domestic violence survivors to meet with an ICADV attorney to discuss how to expunge an eviction, and get answers to questions specific to their case. I am excited to share with you that TL will be offering FREE Summer Meals to all kids 18 years of age and younger. Breakfast and Lunch meals will be offered to the public at two locations! They do not need to sign up, there is no paperwork involved for the parent! All they need to do is show up within the designated time frame. They also do not need to be registered at TL, this is open to all kids in our area!

Do you know a child who needs to learn to swim, or become a stronger swimmer? If so, check out this opportunity from the Monticello Parks Department and the White County Indiana Health Department!

We have some GREAT news White County Indiana Health Department will again be helping with the cost of Swim Lessons! Due to their generous funding source, your cost for lessons will be less than half price!
