The Friends of the MUTPL are accepting used books for our June book sale. Books should be clean and in good repair. Encyclopedias and text books are not accepted. Any donations can be brought to the library during regular hours.
The money made by selling the used books goes back to the library to support their programs.

Indiana DNR Division of Forestry’s is hosting a 5th Grade Arbor Day Poster Contest. 5th graders can drop off their original completed poster about this year's theme “Trees and Pollinators Make Perfect Partners,” at Bluestem Nature Center (802 S Main ST) on or before March 10, 2026.

We are very pleased and excited to announce our Grand Re-opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Monticello-Union Township Public Library will take place on Thursday, February 5th at 1 pm. Our community is invited to come explore your new Library space!

The Library will begin normal operating hours beginning Friday, February 6th.

Today is the last of the furniture sale from 1 - 5 pm. Come see what's left.

We still have solid wood book shelves, big filing cabinets, large wood tables and solid metal office desks available! Stop by the temporary location (934 N Main), near Ace Hardware from 1 pm to 5 pm today to view remaining furniture.

The Friends are assisting the library in looking for new homes for the remaining furniture from their temporary site. The public is invited to browse the remaining furniture December 15th and 16th from 1 pm to 5 pm both days.

*The library will be open for people to browse remaining furniture.
The library will NOT be open for book check outs, returns, printing, & faxing, etc.*

Special arrangements can be made, by request and as we are able, if you would need to pick up outside of the stated times.
Buyers are responsible for moving & hauling any purchased furniture.

Please refrain from claiming items through Facebook or over phone, any furniture will be sold in person, first come, first served basis.

A free will donation will be accepted for any items patrons wish to take.
