Dear Sisters and Brothers:
Let me begin by saying thank you. I cannot stress to you enough my sincere appreciation for the work you do, continuing to be the backbone our communities and institutions rely on. To nobody’s surprise, the COVID-19 pandemic has only proven that our union is made up of exceptional people who answer the call of duty day in and day out.
Unfortunately, the current pandemic is having a massively detrimental financial impact on our state, counties, cities, towns, villages, school districts, libraries, etc. All levels of government are seeing their income dwindling, leaving them in a very bad fiscal position.
To this end, CSEA has launched a campaign to convince Congress to get our governments the financial aid we so badly need. I ask each of you to bring the webinar explaining this campaign and the financial realities surrounding it to your unit and local, inviting all of your members to take part. Please e-mail our Region Political Action Coordinator Chris Ludlow at [email protected] to set up a time for your group.
Standing together, we can work through this and come out the other side. We will need to engage all of our membership, and together we will.
