The One Big Beautiful Bill Act became law on July 4, 2025 and it brings major changes to federal student aid.

Starting with the 2026–27 school year, changes will affect Pell Grants, student loans, Parent PLUS loans, and repayment plans. Some students who are already borrowing may also have legacy protections.

So, what does this actually mean for students and parents?

➡️ We’re breaking it down pillar by pillar so you know what’s changing, who it impacts, and what to watch for.

There’s always something special about returning to where part of your journey began. 💙

Our Executive Director & CEO, Dr. Brittany A. Holloman, had the opportunity to return to her alma mater, Stillman College, to share the work and vision of HBCU C.A.R.E.S. with President Dr. Yolanda W. Page and her leadership team.

We are grateful for the opportunity to highlight the work C.A.R.E.S. is doing to strengthen HBCUs, expand opportunities for students, and build meaningful partnerships that support institutional success.

Thank you to President Page and the Stillman leadership team for the warm welcome and thoughtful conversation. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our partnership and creating even more opportunities for Stillman College and its students.

Hail oh Hail Stillman💙

From walking across campus to excellence in the classroom, innovation within the institutions, game day energy, and homecoming celebrations, HBCUs represent legacy, education, culture, and connection. 🎓🏈

The impact happening across HBCU campuses continues to inspire generations. 🤎

Honored to attend the National Medical Association Women’s Health & Wellness Jazz Brunch during the 2026 Essence Festival of Culture.

Centered around this year’s theme, “Women’s Peace and Justice: Her Health, Her Peace, Her Justice,” the brunch brought together healthcare leaders, advocates, community members, and changemakers committed to advancing women’s health and wellness.

The curated panel discussions sparked meaningful conversations on the importance of equitable healthcare, advocacy, and creating healthier futures for women and communities across the country. Beyond the conversations, the event provided an opportunity to build valuable connections, exchange ideas, and strengthen partnerships with individuals leading change in their respective fields.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of these important discussions and look forward to continuing the work of creating healthier, stronger, and more equitable communities.

In 1881, as the nation celebrated Independence Day, the foundation was being laid for a legacy that would transform generations through education, leadership, and opportunity.

Today, we celebrate the founding of Tuskegee University and the vision that continues to inspire students, alumni, and communities around the world.

Happy Founders’ Day, Tuskegee! ❤️💛

Last year, we didn’t just attend CBC. We showed up.

HBCU C.A.R.E.S. brought the right people into the same room and what happened next was bigger than a reception. It was proof that when HBCUs are resourced, connected, and celebrated, the energy is undeniable.

This was our moment in Washington DC and we captured every second of it.

The question isn’t what happened in this room. It’s whether you’ll be in the next one. 👀💚
