🚨 SAVE OUR STREETS JOB READINESS PROGRAM 🚨
We’re Not Just Preparing Young People for a Job — We’re Preparing Them for LIFE!
At Save Our Streets Montgomery (SOS), a program of the Family Guidance Center of Alabama, we believe that employment is only one part of becoming successful. Our goal is to help young people build the skills, confidence, resources, and direction they need to create a better future.
Our Job Readiness Program goes beyond a résumé and an interview. We meet our students where they are and help them take the steps necessary to move forward.
💼 JOB & CAREER READINESS
We help participants prepare for employment, develop workplace skills, understand expectations, and identify career paths that match their goals and interests.
🎤 REAL-LIFE CONVERSATIONS
We bring in guest speakers who can talk about real-life situations, choices, consequences, overcoming obstacles, financial responsibility, relationships, careers, and making positive decisions.
📋 VITAL DOCUMENTS
We help participants obtain the documents they need to move forward, including:
• Social Security cards
• Birth certificates
• State IDs
• Voter registration
• Other important documentation
🎓 EDUCATION & TRAINING
We help participants work toward obtaining their GED, explore technical schools and workforce training, and connect their education to the career they want to pursue.
🧭 CAREER DIRECTION
Everybody doesn’t have to take the same road. We help young people identify their interests, talents, and goals and guide them toward opportunities that can help them build a career—not just find a job.
❤️ COUNSELING & SUPPORT SERVICES
Through the Family Guidance Center of Alabama, participants can also be connected to counseling and other programs and resources that can help address the challenges they may be facing.
At SOS, we understand that sometimes the biggest barrier isn’t a lack of potential—it’s a lack of resources, guidance, opportunity, and someone willing to walk with you through the process.
That’s why we’re here.
We’re not just trying to get young people hired. We’re helping them get prepared for LIFE.
From despair to hope. From survival to opportunity. From a job to a career.
Save Our Streets Montgomery — Pushing Peace, Creating Opportunities, Changing Lives. 💙
