We just learned that today is Mrs. Haube’s 84th birthday! Please join us in wishing her a very happy celebration. 🎉 💚🌺🌸

We put out a call for books and you all delivered in abundance! This beautiful Sunday afternoon we had a particularly sweet delivery by this lovely mother-daughter duo, Shelly and Sandy.

Boxes and boxes of fantastic books and new puzzles were dropped off by Shelly and Sandy, honoring the final wishes of a dear friend. May her memory be a blessing, which is shared forward now with all the community garden visitors.

The Painted Lady butterfly has returned to the Garden.

This is the first sighting of it at the Old Cloverdale Community Garden in Montgomery County since 2024.

Check out Jackie & her Dad, Dean, (visiting from Wisconsin) participating last weekend in the 2026 Great Southeast Pollinator Census!

At the Old Cloverdale Community Garden in Montgomery, Alabama, there were many pollinator sightings. We had counts in 5 of the 8 Census categories: Bumble Bees, Carpenter Bees, Honey Bees, Small Bees, & Butterflies.

Next year will be even better! Make plans for 2027 to join us for this huge pollinator counting event.

A very special shout out and thank you to neighbor Dave! He attacked our weeds with enthusiasm and efficiency, and we are so grateful. The community garden is looking lovely so do come by to enjoy all the hard work.

About a week ago Gardener Deborah spotted tiny fritillary caterpillars on the passion flower vine at the community garden. Then yesterday we had a Gulf Fritillary Butterfly! The first of this kind we have seen all summer. 🎉
