We extend our deepest and most sincere condolences to our beloved Program Director, Mrs. Cynthia Handy, on the passing of her husband, Rev. Cromwell Handy who was an unwavering pillar of support and one of the program’s greatest champions.

Rev. Handy embodied the true spirit of Hornet and ASPIRE pride. His presence and love for this program were felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He stood not only as a supporter, but as a source of joy to our students, families, and staff.

We are truly saddened by this tremendous loss. During this difficult time, we ask that you join us in lifting Mrs. Handy, their daughters, and the entire Handy family in your prayers. May they find comfort in the outpouring of love, the strength of their faith, and the lasting legacy Rev. Handy leaves behind. 🐝

The ASU ASPIRE Head Start Summer Camp is right around the corner, and we’re getting excited for another amazing summer of learning, growth, and fun! Take a look at this snippet from last year’s camp and see the impact for yourself.

Last summer, our students dove into hands-on science exploration, discovered new ways to understand and approach math, and learned valuable test-taking strategies designed to give them a strong jump start for the upcoming school year.

Our ASU ASPIRE students and staff had an incredible day visiting Brantwood Children’s Home last weekend, where service and purpose came together beautifully.

We spent time engaging in arts and crafts with the children, sharing lots of laughter, enjoying a wonderful lunch, and having meaningful conversations about the importance of setting goals and believing in our dreams.

Giving back is a core part of the ASPIRE mission. Experiences like this help shape compassionate leaders who understand the value of service and community.

We’re grateful for the warm welcome at Brantwood and proud of our students for leading with heart and purpose.

This Juneteenth week, ASU ASPIRE took a powerful field trip to Selma to dive deeper into the Civil Rights Movement and honor the legacy of those who paved the way.

We partnered with Rev. John Grayson and The Historic Gospel Tabernacle Church to donate clothing and water to support the local homeless shelter.

Our students were also in awe meeting The Rev. B.L. Tucker — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s bodyguard — and hearing his stories firsthand.

Thank you Mr. Chestnut for serving as our tour guide.

What a meaningful day of service, history, and connection! Thank you to everyone who made this experience possible.
