Montgomery Volunteer Lawyers Program Volunteer attorneys provide assistance to clients with civil legal matters in Montgomery County, AL.

The Montgomery VLP offers more than 25 services to low-income households. We have more than 400 members of the Montgomery County Bar who donate their time to assist the clients of MVLP. Our attorneys give of their time and legal expertise – without cost to eligible applicants with civil legal issues in Montgomery County – through volunteering at monthly clinics and help desks, and accepting referral of clients for extended representation. Pro bono is more than free legal work.
It can mean helping a family remain safely housed. Helping someone navigate a difficult family situation. Giving a client the guidance they need to move forward. Most importantly, it means ensuring that the ability to afford an attorney does not determine whether someone has access to justice.
This Pro Bono Month, we celebrate the attorneys who step forward to serve and the difference their time can make in the lives of our neighbors.

We are grateful to the Montgomery County Bar Association for their support of the MVLP at last night’s 111th Anniversary Gala. Together, we raised over $30,000 to support access to justice in Montgomery County.

Pro bono service changes lives. Now, we’re building a stronger foundation for that work.
MVLP has launched a $600,000 capital campaign to establish a permanent home for our organization. A dedicated space will allow our staff and volunteer attorneys to work more efficiently, better serve our clients, and expand the impact of pro bono legal services throughout our community.
During Pro Bono Month, we’re celebrating where we’ve been while investing in what comes next.

October is Pro Bono Month, a time to recognize the attorneys who give their time, experience, and talents to help ensure access to justice for everyone in our community.
At the Montgomery Volunteer Lawyers Program, pro bono service is at the heart of what we do. Our staff and volunteer attorneys help individuals and families navigate civil legal challenges they may otherwise face alone.
Throughout this month, we’ll be celebrating the people who make this work possible, sharing more about MVLP’s impact, and looking toward an exciting future for our organization.

About a week ago, we did a BIG thing!

Montgomery County Bar Foundation is now the proud owner of 448 South Lawrence Street. The future “Home for Justice” in Montgomery County will include offices for MVLP staff, conference and board room meeting space, and a large multiuse space for clinics, CLEs, Bar Association socials, and more.
