STRONG DESIRES©5THJUN2024

Today's Scripture:
“But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in Egypt, he will not listen to you.…And the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it.”
Exodus 7:3–5, NIV

SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS

When God told Moses to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelite slaves go free, He also caused Pharoah to harden his heart to say no. God put the desire in him to be stubborn. Why? So that He would receive great glory at Pharaoh’s expense. God went on to perform great miracles so the Egyptian people knew He was the true God.

It was a part of His plan so the Israelites could fulfill their purpose. How much more will God put desires in you so you can fulfill your destiny? You don’t have to fear the future or worry about whether you will be making the right choices. Just keep honoring God to lighten your path to fulfill your destiny.

Friend, your part is to commit your ways to Him every morning and say, “Lord, let Your will be done and not mine. I put You first place.” God’s part is to put the right desires in you that are strong enough to where you step into His will. This is how He will lead you into the best plan that He’s already laid out for you.

A Prayer for Today:
“Father, thank You that You are the Almighty God who is working in all things for my good. Thank You that as I put You first, You are putting desires in my heart that will lead me to fulfill my purpose. I will walk in peace, knowing You are taking me down the best path for my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

BE A PHINEHAS©26THAPR2024

Today's Scripture:
But Phinehas had the courage to intervene, and the plague was stopped.
Psalm 106:30, NLT

SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS

In Numbers 25, Midianite women had lured the Israelites into idol worship, partying, and committing all kinds of immorality. God was so displeased that a plague broke out and thousands of Israelites died. It looked as though the plague would continue. Then a man named Phinehas rose up and put to death an Israelite man and Midianite woman who publicly defied Moses’ warning.

Phinehas’s action was extreme, but it saved others. One person took a stand and said, “I’m going to honor God and do the right thing,” and the plague ended. Take it symbolically. You can stop the plague in your family, but you have to kill the negative cycle of anger, unforgiveness, pride, compromise, addiction, or any other form of negativity.

Friend, as long as you allow these things to live, they will kill your dreams, kill your freedom, kill your purpose, and get passed down to your children and continue to ravage many generations. Have the courage to breakforth. Our attitude should be: “This may have been passed down, but it’s not going to get past me. I will win the battle. This is where it ends.”

A Prayer for Today:
“Father, thank You for the call to rise up and take my stand against whatever negative cycle has plagued me and my family. Thank You that I am not limited by my past, by dysfunction that’s been passed down. I believe that You are going to help me take my family to the next level. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

CELEBRATE OTHERS©10THAPR2024

Today's Scripture:
“‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”
Luke 15:31–32, NIV

SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS

In Luke 15, the older brother of the prodigal was so angry when his father celebrated the prodigal’s return with a party that he refused to go in. He said, “Dad, I’ve always done what you asked, but you’ve never even given me a skinny goat. After all the bad things my brother’s done, how can you kill a fatted calf for him?” You can hear his bitterness.

That bitterness, however, didn’t stop the party; it just kept him out of the party. Sometimes we’re holding on to unforgiveness, self-pity, anger, and resentment thinking that it’s hurting the other person when it’s only hurting us, delaying and destroying our progress for no relevant reasons.

Friend, are you letting bitterness or a disappointment keep you from enjoying your days? Why don’t you let it go and come into the party? Life is happening. There’s a celebration going on. Today is a gift. Don’t let a bad break keep you out of the party. Don’t let a divorce or a disappointment cause you to be sour and sit on the sidelines of life. Come into the party.

A Prayer for Today:
“Father, thank You that today is Your gift to me and that there’s a celebration going on. Thank You that I don’t have to sit on the sidelines in unforgiveness or bitterness over things that have happened. I declare that I’m getting rid of whatever may be keeping me from joining the party. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

A HERO MENTALITY ©29THMAR2024

Today's Scripture:
It’s useless to rise early and go to bed late, and work your worried fingers to the bone. Don’t you know he enjoys giving rest to those he loves?
Psalm 127:2, MSG

SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS

It’s easy to get so caught up meeting other people’s needs and measuring up to their expectations that we put ourselves on the back burner. There are the constant demands of work, family, the maintenance of the house, and friends who are counting on us.

We develop a hero mentality where we can’t let anyone down. We always have to be strong, always come through, cheer everyone else up, fix the problems, and stay late. We’re doing all these good things to try to keep everyone around us happy. The problem is that we can become depleted, drained, worn-out.

Friend, your first mission is to keep yourself healthy—emotionally, physically, and spiritually. It is important to know that as long as we’re making sure everyone else is a priority, we also need to make ourself a priority. It’s not selfish to take time to get refreshed, to be reenergized. You shouldn’t be so busy that you don’t have time to be alone, to laugh, to exercise, and for recreation. Our God delights to give you rest and to help you stay in balance.

A Prayer for Today:
“Father, thank You for giving me my body to live in and to care for as a temple of Your Spirit. Thank You that You made me to work and be productive as well as to rest and to be refreshed. Help me keep myself healthy and renewed, living a balanced life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

ENTER WITH PRAISE©28THMAR2024

Today's Scripture:
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
(Psalm 100:4, NIV)

SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS

What an amazing privilege we have to serve a personal God who desires a relationship with us. But notice that today’s Scripture tells us that we shouldn’t come empty-handed to the King of kings and the Lord of lords. What do we have to give that’s worthy of Almighty God?

Our praise. Our thanksgiving. Our worship. We should always enter His gates with an offering of thanksgiving from our hearts. Praise isn’t just about singing songs in church. Praise is the expression of gratefulness to God for Who He is and all that He has done. Celebrating His faithfulness in every seasons of life even to my household.

Friend, Praise gets God’s attention. Praise is a powerful tool in our life because God inhabits the praises of His people! When we enter His presence the right way, He enters our circumstances; and when God shows up, the enemy must flee! Today, enter into His gates with thanksgiving and open the door for Him to move on your behalf!

A Prayer for Today:
“Father, thank You that I can come to You with a heart full of thanksgiving. I have so much to be grateful for because of Your goodness. You are good, and Your mercy endures forever! Thank You for doing exceedingly abundantly above all I could ever ask or imagine. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

NOT A LION, LIKE A LION©18THMAR2024

Today's Scripture:
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
1 Peter 5:8, NIV

SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS

Even though our enemy was defeated when Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead, the challenge is that he makes a lot of noise, going about like a roaring lion. He’s not a lion. He can’t overpower you. He can’t control your destiny. He’s like a lion, which means he’s loud.

He’ll roar negative thoughts, such as, “That sickness will be the end of you. You’ll never meet the right person. You’ve made too many mistakes. There’s nothing good in your future.” Do yourself a favor: Ignore the roar. Don’t believe his lies. When those thoughts come, just give him the zero sign. Remind him, “You have no power over me. You’ve already been defeated.

Friend, declare I belong to God, I will walk in victory. I will live and not die. I will prosper and succeed. I will stay in peace in the midst of the storm.” When you know that what comes against you has already been defeated, it changes your outlook. You won’t live in fear, worried about your future, or let doubt hold you back. You’ll move forward knowing that God has already taken care of anything you face. The path has already been cleared. Go forward!

A Prayer for Today:
“Father, thank You that when the enemy is roaring, bombarding my thoughts with doubts and fears, I can resist him, firm in the faith. Thank You that he does not have any power over me. I declare that I will not be intimidated into backing down, and I will not believe the roar. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

NO RECORD BOOK©15THMAR2024

Today's Scripture:
Love...keeps no record of being wronged.
1 Corinthians 13:4–5, NLT

SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS

You might see your relationship with someone go to a whole new level if you just get rid of the record book. Some people have a mental list of everything anybody has done wrong to them for the last twenty years. They have a detailed scorecard, listing every time their spouse hurt them, every time their boss was thoughtless or rude, every time their parents missed their interest.

As long as you are bringing up pain from the past, you are going to have strife in your present and be overloaded be it’s pressure. You may be right about what happened, but do you want to be right, or do you want to have peace in a relationship? Do you want to have your way, or do you want to have a healthy relationship?

Brethren, instead of keeping a list of slights or offenses or what didn’t work out, it could change your life greatly if you get in the habit of throwing out your negative record book. Learn to cover the weaknesses in the people who are close to you and focus on the good. If they have done something wrong, talk about it moving forward. Believe the best in people and be blessed.

A Prayer for Today:
“Father, thank You for loving me, for forgiving me, and for not keeping a record of my sins and failures. I want to be someone who loves others with Your love, who covers their faults and weaknesses and doesn’t bring them up. Help me to focus on the good and keep moving on. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

THE RIGHT IMAGE OF GOD©14THMAR2024

Today's Scripture:
Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
Ephesians 1:4, NLT

SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS

We all have made mistakes and done things we’re not proud of. We let the accuser remind us of how unworthy we are, how we should be ashamed of ourselves, how we don’t deserve God’s goodness. But do you know how God sees you? The apostle Paul says that before He made the world, God loved and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes.

God loves you unconditionally and sees you without fault. How can this be? Because Christ already paid the price for your sins and failures. He sees you without fault, but that won’t benefit you the way it should if you don’t see yourself without fault. Why don’t you drop the baggage of feeling unworthy and condemned and receive God’s love?

Friend, don’t let a wrong image of God keep you from the blessings, the joy, the favor that belong to you. He’s already forgiven your sins. Come fearlessly into His presence, knowing that strongholds of guilt and condemnation are being broken right now. Step up into His open arms and become all you were created to be.

A Prayer for Today:
“Father, thank You that when the accuser tries to dump a load of guilt on me, I can say with authority, ‘Jesus paid the price.’ I receive Him into my heart as my Lord and personal Savior. He chose me before He made the world and I am holy, blameless, and without a single fault. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

THE FAITH TO BELIEVE©13THMAR2024

Today's Scripture:
I had not told anyone what my God had put in my heart to do for Jerusalem.
Nehemiah 2:12, NIV

SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS

When Nehemiah heard that the walls and gates of Jerusalem had been torn down, there was nothing he could do about it. He was a cupbearer to the king of Persia, living in exile a thousand miles away. But suddenly God dropped a desire in Nehemiah to rebuild those walls. It didn’t make sense to his mind.

He didn’t have the staff, the resources, or the experience. But with the desire came a new boldness, a confidence, the faith to believe for what seemed impossible. He went to the king, and amazingly the king not only sent Nehemiah but supplied him the materials and funds to do it.

Friend, notice that God not only puts desires in you, but He puts the favor on you so you can see that desire come to pass. When it’s a destiny desire, there’s a force breathing in your direction, pushing you forward, opening doors, causing people to be good to you. You’re not stressed over how it’s going to happen; you know it’s going to happen. Get ready for where God is about to take you.

A Prayer for Today:
“Father, thank You that You never give me the desire to do something without the power and favor to do it. Thank You that I don’t have to make it all happen on my own or manipulate people to help me. I’m going to keep You first place and watch You work out Your plans for my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
