If it’s not approved for ESD #10, that sales tax capacity doesn’t just disappear — it can be redirected elsewhere, including local development incentives.

This vote determines whether that funding supports fire protection or something else.

The Magnolia Fire Department has placed Proposition A on the May 2 ballot to address continued growth and increasing demand for emergency services.

Call volume has risen by approximately 14% each year as residential, commercial, and multi-family development expands across the area. At the same time, the cost of equipment, staffing, and station construction continues to increase.

If approved, the measure would authorize a 1% local sales and use tax in eligible areas to support staffing, new stations, facility upgrades, and equipment replacement.

Early voting begins April 20. Election Day is May 2. For more information, see the link in the comments.
