We’re happy to introduce our next summer intern, Ware McCollum!

Ware is a Montgomery native and a rising junior at the University of Alabama, where he is studying Finance with a minor in Real Estate. He is actively involved on campus as a member of Capstone Men in Business and has held leadership roles within his fraternity as both Rush Chair and Social Chair. Ware has also earned a place on the University of Alabama President’s List.

This summer, Ware is excited to gain a deeper understanding of Alabama’s business community, learn more about the work BCA does on behalf of employers across the state, and build lasting connections with business leaders throughout Alabama.

We are excited to have Ware on board this summer and look forward to the impact he will make during his time with BCA.

Today's ruling was a win for Alabama's business community. Alabama businesses need certainty that courts won't rewrite legally agreed-upon contracts based on one party's preference rather than an objective standard.

With this ruling behind us, we hope Jackson Hospital and its partners can now focus on finding a path forward. We hope all parties will come together to help Jackson Hospital continue serving the River Region and beyond

A bankruptcy judge denied Jackson Hospital's request to force Blue Cross to raise reimbursement rates, with a June 25 closure deadline.

It’s time to meet Drew Haggerty, one of our talented Summer 2026 interns at BCA!

Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Drew is a rising junior at The University of Alabama, where he is studying Economics with a minor in Public Policy. He is also pursuing a Master’s in Quantitative Economics through UA’s accelerated program. On campus, Drew serves as Head of the Financing and Grants Committee on Lobby Board and is a member of Capstone Men in Business.

Drew brings valuable experience from his time working for Majority Leader Congressman Steve Scalise and gaining firsthand exposure to both government and legal affairs. This summer, he is excited to gain a deeper understanding of Alabama’s business community, economic development, and the policies that help drive growth across our state. We are thrilled to have Drew on the team this summer and look forward to the impact he will make during his time at BCA.

Each summer, BCA is honored to welcome student interns from across the state who bring fresh ideas, strong work ethics, and a passion for making a difference.

Our interns recently met with President & CEO Helena Duncan to share their goals, learn from her leadership experience, and discuss the opportunities ahead for Alabama’s business community.

These students represent the next generation of Alabama’s workforce. Their ambition, curiosity, and drive are a reminder that our state's future is in good hands. We are proud to invest in their growth and grateful to have them as part of the BCA team this summer.

The 2026 election cycle was a turning point for Alabama’s business community.

Together, we built the strongest political program in our organization's history and sent a clear message: leaders who support economic growth and job creation have a strong ally in BCA, and those who stand in the way of Alabama's economic future will be held accountable.

As we move toward the runoff and general elections, we remain committed to advancing policies that strengthen Alabama’s economy, create opportunity, and improve the quality of life across our state. Thank you for your partnership, your trust, and your investment in Alabama’s future.

Alabama is showing the country that hard work gets things done.

Jamie Dimon recently highlighted Alabama as a national model for workforce development and economic growth, pointing to our state’s leadership in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, defense, energy, and technology. Alabama continues to prove that investing in workforce development strengthens our economy, supports job creators, and creates opportunity for future generations.

Jamie Dimon and JPMorganChase are highlighting Alabama as a state uniquely positioned to help solve America’s growing labor shortages.
