A few weeks ago, a large group of volunteers came down from Lansing High School to help out with some houses across the river region. This many people coming down just to help has a big impact and means a lot to the owners of the houses in need of repairs. Hopefully, they can continue their annual trip into the future.

Mrs. E. experienced an unimaginable tragedy in her life a few years ago when she lost her father and grandchild in a senseless act of violence when someone broke into her home. RTCA volunteers, locally and from Michigan, have helped her with some much needed home repairs and last month Jason spent his Saturday replacing her backdoor. Mrs. E. finds strength through her church and knowing that one day she may be called upon to provide hope and strength to someone else in need.

Our 25 priorities for providing a Safe & Healthy home asks if, " Residents can maintain the interior temperature in a comfortable range" The answer last week was "No". This week the answer is, "Yes". Thank you Jason for volunteering to make a difference in Ms J's life.

Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School held their 2025 Works of Mercy Day on April 11. 285 students and 43 adult volunteers collectively dedicated 1,148 hours of service throughout the River Region. Six of those students and two adults spent their day with Rebuilding Together scraping, painting and pressure washing Mr. B's home. It was great getting to know these volunteers. Pope Francis once ended a message with, "Living for others is a rule of nature. We are all born to help each other. No matter how difficult it is ..... life is good when you are happy; but much better when others are happy because of you."

Volunteers from First United Methodist Church are making some big improvements to Mrs. C's home. Sometimes it's like opening Pandora's box, but they're up to the challenge.
