FUN FACT: ORIGAMI HAS GONE TO SPACE!

Think origami is just paper cranes?

Think again. 👀

The same folding principles used in origami have inspired engineers to design solar arrays for spacecraft that can be folded into a compact space for launch—and then unfold into enormous structures once they reach space. 🚀☀️

In one NASA/JPL research project, an origami-inspired solar-array design could expand from about 8.9 feet to an incredible 82 feet across!

✨ Korean Word of the Week: 추석

Have you ever heard of *Korean Thanksgiving*? 🌕🍂

In Korean, one of the most important traditional holidays is called 「추석」.

**Meaning:**

추석 = **Chuseok / Korean harvest festival / Korean Thanksgiving**

「추석」 is one of Korea’s most important traditional holidays.

It is celebrated in the **fall**, usually when the moon is full and bright. During 추석, many families travel to their hometowns, gather together, prepare special food, and spend meaningful time with loved ones. 🏡💛

People often enjoy traditional foods such as **송편** (songpyeon, half-moon rice cakes), seasonal fruits, and other festive dishes. 추석 is also a time to give thanks for the harvest and remember family traditions. 🌾🍇🍐

In other words, **추석** is a holiday that brings together **family, food, gratitude, and tradition**.

**Example:**

**Families gather together during Chuseok.**

추석에는 가족들이 함께 모여요.

For many people, 추석 is a special time to eat delicious food, admire the full moon, and enjoy being with family. 🌕👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
