Please join us in praying for our friends in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda as they face this devastating Ebola outbreak. Many of the regions hardest hit are areas where we serve, meaning dear friends, ministry partners in the Gospel, and the communities we reach through outreach efforts are directly affected.

It may take months for this outbreak to come under control, and potentially even longer before our U.S. missionaries can safely return. At this time, there are no approved vaccines or specific treatments available, and many of the impacted areas are extremely hostile environments, making it difficult for healthcare workers to reach communities and carry out critical contact tracing efforts.

We ask you to pray for protection, healing, wisdom for medical teams, and strength for those serving on the ground. Please also lift up the 177+ families who have already lost loved ones to this outbreak.

Your prayers matter.

CHANGED PLANS, UNCHANGED PURPOSE
Proverbs 16:9 says, “A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.” Once again we have seen this come to pass in our lives and ministry at Global Impact.

Sunday, May 10th, was supposed to be the departure date for missionaries Rick Groover and Mike Perry to Uganda, East Africa. The training materials were ready and the pastors from three different countries were making plans for our next training session.

But God….

With us ready and willing, God sovereignly stopped us by not allowing Mike’s needed visa to come in. Even though we did everything right and all we needed to do to obtain the needed paperwork, it did not come in. And now for the rest of the story…

At the same time as it was becoming evident the trip would need to be rescheduled, we learned the reason for the Lord’s redirection. Mike and Cindy Perry’s two year old granddaughter, Everly Perry, would end up in the hospital in heart failure. She was airlifted from Greenville, SC to MUSC in Charleston. Once she is stable, she will again be life-flighted to Boston Children's Hospital sometime next week, where she will likely be placed on the heart-transplant list.

That’s right - we had devised our way but the Lord directed our steps!

We are all now counting on your continued love, prayers, and support as we walk through this season together. Every day is a challenge. Even through medical issues, plans can change on an hour-by-hour basis. We need the Lord! And we need our faithful friends and partners to remain stedfast as we walk through these days. We are encouraged in the Lord and counting on Him during this needful time. The work in Africa goes on and the kindness of God is evident both here and there.

We are not discouraged nor dismayed. We are determined and devoted to the plan and purpose of the Lord in ALL things. We are in His grip as we continue to walk out the kind and merciful plans He has for these days. Our team will return to Africa on an undetermined date to continue the purpose God has called us to fulfil, trusting fully in His perfect timing, direction, and gentle leading.

Love and prayers,
Rick, Tracy, Mike, and Cindy

WORSHIP WEDNESDAY
“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.” Psalm 100

What a joy it was for our mission team to worship with the Sayuni Anibu congregation in Uganda earlier this year! Though we sang in different languages, we were united by the same powerful songs, and we lifted our voices to the same mighty God. Moments like this remind us that the body of Christ truly spans every nation and culture. We are so grateful for the sweet fellowship and the beautiful reminder that worship knows no borders.

FRUITFUL FRIDAY
“We may speak about a place where there are no tears, no death, no fear, no night; but those are just the benefits of heaven. The beauty of heaven is seeing God.”

DID YOU KNOW our Director and Assistant Director, Rick Groover and Mike Perry, will soon be traveling to South Sudan and Uganda. In just a few weeks, they will embark on a mission with a full and purposeful schedule.

During their time there, they will lead a week-long intensive training for national pastors, equipping and encouraging local leaders. They will also meet with pastors and visit churches to prayerfully consider new ministry partnerships. God is powerfully expanding the work of CHURCH PLANTING AND EXPANSION in this region, and this trip is an important step in that journey.

Each of these men is responsible for raising $3,500 to make this trip possible. (A total of $7,000.) Would you prayerfully consider supporting them in this meaningful and critical mission?

To help fund this trip, visit our WEBSITE (gimi.world/donate). Be sure to put "Mission Trip" in the comment section, as well as which of the men you are donating to. (If no name is given, it will be split equally between the two.)

The TRIP DATES are May 10-26. Please be in prayer as they journey across the globe to make God's Vision Our Mission!
