The Gift of Life Foundation The Gift of Life serves expectant/parenting moms,dads and children in Alabama who are at a high risk for infant mortality.

Our programs help families reduce barriers to success related to economic, social and health disparities and improve birth outcomes. Gift of Life Foundation works to reduce Montgomery County's infant mortality rate through evidenced-based family coaching programs for at-risk mothers and babies. We help mothers improve their pregnancy outcomes (deliver healthy babies), connect them to community resources, help them gain self-sufficiency skills, become effective parents and build strong family skills.

We're all about getting better at what we do!

Gift of Life Parents as Teachers at Pike and Crenshaw County Parent Educators Bailey Adar and Tchanavia Toney AU's Cary Center's Nonprofit Training Series earlier today at Troy University’s IDEA Bank in Troy.

The workshop provided valuable strategies and creative ways to engage donors and sponsors, build meaningful relationships, and keep them invested in your programs.
Bailey and Tchanavia enjoyed the sessions and will implement much of what they learned as they build support for GOL in their counties.

🌟 Reflecting on an inspiring week at PATCON26! 🌟

Gift of Life's Parents as Teachers Supervisor LaWanda May and Mobile Family Coaching Supervisor Autumn Ellis recently attended the Parents as Teachers International Conference in Portland, Oregon, October 5–8, 2026.

They joined more than 2,000 early childhood professionals and family advocates around the globe for the event. This year's theme was "Navigate" and focused on discovering new ways to guide and support families in an ever-changing world.

The event featured roughly 90 workshops and 8 specialized training sessions covering the latest in home visiting, child development, and early education. In addition, LaWanda received her 10-year pin and plaque and Autumn received her seven-year pin and plaque for dedicated service to Parents as Teachers. Both plan to use the new tools they've acquired at the conference to strengthen their programs at GOL.

Join the Gift of Life River Region Community Action Team (Consortia) for our annual Candlelight Memorial in honor of International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day on October 15, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Gift of Life Foundation, 1348 Carmichael Way, Montgomery, 36106. Anyone who has lost a pregnancy, an infant or a loved one who died in childbirth is welcome to attend.

We're active in the communities that we serve!💜
Gift of Life Pike County Parent Educators Shay Toney and Kennedy Caldwell attended the Miracle League kickball game yesterday at the Troy Recreation Center, where they had the opportunity to help individuals with special needs compete and have fun! Shay and Kennedy participated in the games and cheered on other participants. It was a wonderful experience that highlighted the importance of inclusiveness. Everyone, every ability, all celebrated!

There's no place like home! Gift of Life's September Group Connection was all about homeownership, and our moms learned about affordable homeownership opportunities through Habitat for Humanity. Our guest speaker was Susan Johnson, President/CEO of Habitat for Humanity. Mrs. Johnson provided information regarding homeownership through Habitat for Humanity and provided a brochure on the program. Several clients scheduled an appointment for an orientation class to start the homeownership process. The clients received gifts for attending, and lunch was provided by Firehouse Subs.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Gift of Life staff decided to PINK-OUT our Friday Forum Staff Meeting. The shades of pink were as varied as our team members, but when it comes to our passion for celebrating survivors like our own HR Director, Annie Rogers, supporting women (and men) still in the fight, and educating others about breastfeeding, which helps lower breast cancer risks, we are ONE!
