The Central Alabama Community Foundation is a nonprofit philanthropic foundation created by and for the people of central Alabama.

Through its multiple funds, CACF addresses a wide variety of projects and programs in education, health, human services, cultural arts, recreation, historic preservation and other civic concerns. Individuals and corporate donors make gifts and bequests of any size for the betterment of our community.

Access to safe, reliable shelter during severe weather is essential for rural communities, and today, we were privileged to deliver the support Lowndes County deserves!

CACF made a surprise visit to award $134,190 in grant funding to the Town of Gordonville, represented by Mayor Orbuty Ozier. Part of a $1M community grant for Lowndes County, this funding supports the construction of a dedicated storm shelter to protect town residents and surrounding neighbors during severe weather emergencies.

Protecting our neighbors when storms hit is a top priority, and this new facility will provide vital safety, protection, and peace of mind for Lowndes County families for years to come.

Based in our Montgomery office, this role plays a pivotal part in leading our scholarships team, guiding nonprofit partners through the grant lifecycle, and ensuring our resources create maximum community impact.
