Now for some good news. In case you missed it: RA-endorsed School Accountability bill receives final passage. Governor's signature expected within the week.

The Senate on Tuesday granted final approval to a bill which requires the Alabama Department of Education to issue a performance-based letter grade to every school in the state. Gov. Robert Bentley is expected to sign the bill within the next week.

The House of Representatives kept busy late into last night and got HB588 passed. This bill requires the Department of Education to create and implement a letter grading system of all schools in Alabama. It's one of our Blueprint for Education Reform initiatives, so we're happy to see it go on to the Senate so quickly!
