A request for assistance was made yesterday for a 36-year-old gelding that had fallen down a hill into a wooded area and was unable to stand. We assessed the situation and determined that additional resources were necessary. The Snowdoun Volunteer Fire Department's Chief and Assistant Chief demonstrated their commitment to the community by responding to our request despite their recent involvement in a house fire, which had afforded them only a few hours of sleep. We are grateful for their support. Unfortunately, the horse's prognosis was poor, and euthanasia was performed to prevent further suffering. Our thoughts are with the horse's owner during this difficult time.

It is with great sadness that we notify you of the passing of our dear Coco on 12/29/2025, aged approximately 42 years, a beloved friend and essential part of her foster families' lives. She was incredibly fortunate to have had such dedicated people in her life who provided her with everything she needed to thrive and reach this notable age.
