What an adorably adventurous morning we’ve had while prepping bales with compost tea with ! In the interest of stepping away from synthetic fertilizer to condition bales, we were curious how soaking them in compost tea would work. We had to forego soaking them in the trough we HAD hoped to use, because it had brand new residents beneath it! We’re using the rolling cart instead. (Looks like it might bust, but we promise: it’s ok, it’s a “Tough Guy”…)

Watch the experiment (and the kittens) progress by coming to EAT South’s Volunteer Days! Thursdays at 4PM at the ASU Teaching garden!!

🚨‼️GARDEN UPDATE‼️🚨 Our friend Mark over at Christ’s Center Church sent us these pics and writes: “The garden is looking very good. I’ve already harvested radishes and lettuce and collards. I can’t seem to keep ahead of thinning the carrots. They’re thick!”

‼️🚨GARDEN UPDATE🚨‼️ The fall/winter bales planted by our friends over at Christ’s Center Church are starting to produce! Carrot bale looks like a chia pet; lettuce & radishes already harvesting (lettuce, just from thinning out); and their parsnip bale looks a little tipsy. Bales don’t usually lean like this, but there’s no reason to be alarmed. Prop it with cinder blocks (or another row of bales😁)
