Our good friends from Zurich are back on our job site volunteering with us! 💚 They are working on our Green Freedom project-a 17 home net-zero Smart Neighborhood we are building with the partnership of Nicor Gas. This project is a huge endeavor so we are so happy to welcome teams like Zurich in to progress the project and promote the amazing technology we are implementing.

One of the best parts about volunteering on our build sites is that no experience is required—anyone can make a difference, they just need a willing heart. That said, it’s always a joy when we get to work alongside a team of skilled tradespeople. Your expertise, teamwork, and willingness to jump in make a huge impact.

We especially love the opportunity to share how we do things a little differently to help support our future homeowners. All the little things add up to keep their house safe and affordable for generations. Volunteers, thank you for lending your time, talent, and heart to our mission—we’re so grateful to have you on site!

Yesterday we were joined by Zoro.com on our Green Freedom project site for their first ever volunteer day. 💚 We love welcoming new teams into the Habitat volunteer family and Green Freedom is such a special project, we are happy to use it to teach others about affordable ways to make a home net-zero.
