U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) said Monday that President Donald Trump and the Republican lead Congress are working to help farmers and foresters across the country including the Yellowhammer State.

Tuberville, who sits on the Senate Agriculture Committee, spoke at the annual Alabama Forestry Association Conference about some of the benefits those in the forestry related industries will soon see.

“Now we have 23 million acres of forest in the state, Alabama, 23 million acres, he said. “It makes $36 billion a year. And again, I know about this because y’all come up to remind me of it quite often and appreciate you coming up. It’s big part of our economy, big part. So I hope you’re starting to get a plan. We’re starting to get a plan for you to help you, and everything that you do, from the from the loggers all the way to the sawmills, all the way to getting rid of your wood residual, everything that we can possibly do to make your life better, make more profit.”

Tuberville said the former Biden administration kept getting in the way of helping foresters and farmers in Alabama.

David Benefield with our ForestryWorks team recently had the opportunity to speak with ag students from Eva High School in Morgan Co. These students had just finished a class on forestry so David was able to share with them more about the forest industry in Alabama, general forestry facts, and even did some tree identification. What a fun day! 🌳🪵🌿

Yesterday we teamed up with Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth and House District 38 candidate, Garrett Dixon, to host an awesome Veteran’s Day lunch in East Alabama! It was a beautiful day for some delicious fried catfish with some amazing heroes.🇺🇸 We are forever thankful for all the men and women who have fought for our freedom!
