Meet our latest find while gleaming today.

Please meet • Rangpur Lime (Citrus × limonia):

From my research.......

• What it looks like: It features a slightly rough, greenish-orange peel and a vibrant, deep-orange, segmented flesh.

• What it is: A natural hybrid between a mandarin orange and a citron (not a true lime).

• Flavor: Very tart, sour, and intensely aromatic with floral or zesty notes. Often used in cocktails, marinades, and specialty gins.

Weirdly, deliciously tart but 😥 no seeds to be found.

We would like to thank our volunteers for getting our hoop house and beds ready for our winter crops of brassicas! We are so grateful. Nothing in the house left but Thai, Lemon, Blue African basil, some pollinators, and oh yeah the Hibiscus Roselle, coming in groves! We lastly have some sweet potatoes growing in a ground bed. We are ready for fall officially!

And the award for latest blooming plant at Legacy Gardens is the Roselle Hibiscus at 120 days and counting, they were worth the wait!

🌱 One Season Ends, Another Begins at Legacy Gardens 🍂

Our summer grow is winding down, and we’re already preparing for what comes next! We’ve begun clearing and composting our spent summer plants, refreshing our growing spaces, and preparing for our fall and winter harvests.

We are incredibly grateful to every partner, volunteer, fellow grower, donor, and supporter who helped us this season. 💚 Every seed planted, harvest shared, and lesson taught moves our mission forward.

Now, we need your help to grow the next season. Your donation helps provide seeds, soil, garden supplies, educational materials, and resources for our community programming.
