Happy 27th Birthday to LaKeith Smith, who has been in an Alabama maximum security prison since he was just 15 years old. Today we honor his strength and the unwavering love from his family, friends, and supporters across the country, praying for his safety and protection. Judge Sibley Reynolds went easy on Wesley Phelps who was the 28 year old that killed his girlfriend in a fiery crash when he was evading police in the car he stole while high on drugs. Wesley has a record but Judge Sibley Reynolds gave him a 3 year sentence and included his jail time as time served because Wesley had a good support system at home. Judge Sibley Reynolds was wrong..

Wesley Phelps has racked up several more felonies since and has been in and out of prison while LaKeith Smith is locked up in a maximum security Alabama State Prison for the last 8 years. LaKeith was 15 when he was locked up and is now 24 years old.. Judge Sibley Reynolds gave LaKeith Smith a 65 year sentence because he was going into unoccupied homes during the day and stealing video games. When the cops came in the boys ran.

Officers Mark Ritter and AJ Renfroe shot 16 year old A’Donte Washington in the back as he was running away. LaKeith Smith was CHARGED with the MURDER the cops committed. The same judge who gave 3 years to Wesley gave 65 years to LaKeith.

LaKeith’s current attorney argued that LaKeiths constitutional rights were violated and the court granted LaKeith a resentencing hearing. Judge Sibley Reynolds who since retired came out of retirement to hear this case in March 21 2023 when he resentenced LAKEITH to 30 years!!!!!

You must know, a Pastor from the church testified that LaKeith would be in good hands with the community. The father of A’Donte Washington who was murdered by police testified that LaKeith should be home. People from all over the country travelled to that courtroom in support of LaKeith. He has a support system like no one I’ve seen.
