Team,

Col Miller thanks everyone involved in the planning or executing of support to the State of Alabama during Hurricane Isaias. While the wing was not tasked with specific Disaster Relief or SAR support to the state, the wing was postured to support the Heart of Dixie and Federal partners.

The wing did successfully execute or plan the following SAFE HAVEN sorties/Staff Planning:

1 x IMT executed - IC, OPS, AOBD, and GBD (Additional IMT staff available - Chaplain and PIO)
2 x Air sorties executed - 1.2 hours
4 x Air sorties planned - All CXL'd*

*NB. 1 x Air sortie planned included a CODEL ISO of Senator Tubberville.

Additionally, all Groups were prepared to support with additional aircrews, aircraft, ground team, and sUAS support.

According to Col Miller, "We were able to update the SER CV and CAP-USAF LO in real time thanks to the coordination and planning conducted by the Wing Staff and IMT."

As the poet John Milton wrote in 1673, “They also serve who only stand and wait”

An AAR with lessons learned from this late season Hurricane is scheduled sometime in the next 2-weeks.

Please ensure maximum dissemination to your teams.
