Seemed timely considering our recent meeting. Thought you would find it interesting.

We had a unique call for the Palmyra Fire Protection District yesterday.....We were requested for a commercial vehicle experiencing major mechanical issues and was only able to drive at low speed. The vehicle in question was transporting several million honey bees. Without the truck being able to move at highway speeds and temperatures near 90 degrees, the bees quickly began to overheat. That is over $300,000 worth of honey bees on one truck!! These bees provide commercial pollinating services for apricot orchards across the country. The only way to help keep them alive was to gently spray them with water. Only one firefighter was stung during this process, thankfully. Protecting and serving one hive at a time!
