Our Story: The first UWC-USA Summer Youth Program - Global Leadership Forum - took place in 2011 under the leadership of John Braman. The vision of the program was to increase international collaboration among young people. The program typically hosts from 25-45 participants representing 10 – 25 countries as well as a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds due to the financial aid packages offered. Braman’s leadership was followed by Josh Holland (2012 – 2014), David Jacobson-Fried (2015), and Di Ye (2016). In 2017 Jason Brewer stepped in formally on June 1st to formally lead the program. Gita Wilson UWC-USA ’05 was an integral part in the development of the 2017 GLF program by supporting the program development and leadership transition to Jason Brewer up until the end of Staff Training during the second week of June, 2017. Currently, Jason Brewer is leading charge in the program development for 2018 and beyond that offers a sound experiential education curriculum that aligns with the UWC mission, core values, and educational goal of the GLF curriculum. All staff and participants both past and present have an integral part in creating the program as it is today and shaping it for the future.
