"It really should be lauded as a celebration, not just for the band and for our future generations. But because it's actually going to strengthen the research and the economic development work that is being done at the Cloquet Forestry Center," said Rep. Liish Kozlowski
Land Back is rural resilience, and CURE is excited to see what the forestry center and Fond du Lac will accomplish in this new era. There is much to learn, and returning ownership will benefit rural economies as well as righting the serious wrong. 🌾🤝

The yearslong work of returning land at the Cloquet Forestry Center to the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa took a major step forward at the Capitol on Wednesday.

This is what happens when you try to fast-track a massive project without doing the work. 🚧⚠️ This week, a judge stopped construction on the Pine Island data center until the validity of its environmental review can be determined by the court.

Local residents have been clear:
✅ Do a real Environmental Impact Statement.
✅ Bring the community in.

🚫 No backroom deals. No NDAs. No shortcuts.

The Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy sued developer Ryan Cos. and the city of Pine Island, arguing that the environmental review of the data center known as “Project Skyway” was inadequate. A judge agree to temporarily halt construction until the case is decided.

🚜 Minnesota is a leader in green ammonia fertilizer research and commercial production is coming to the state. Production of green ammonia fertilizer is cleaner than conventional methods and helps stabilize farmer input costs. BUT the environmental effects of applying fertilizer —whether green or not— are the same.

We believe cooperative ownership and farmer participation is key to making green ammonia fertilizer accessible while advancing farming methods that protect our groundwater. 💧🌱

Our state agencies, like the , need to be held accountable to the laws that protect Minnesota people, lands, water, and climate. The DNR should not be giving in to pressure to cut down trees on WMAs (Wildlife Management Areas). We will keep calling on the legislature and the next Governor to make sure our state agencies do better. 🌿🌲🐻
