Lac Qui Parle has a tradition of being one of the best walleye fisheries in the state and the Lac Qui Parle Lake Association is helping in keeping that tradition alive for the anglers of Minnesota. ation. Since its inception, the Lac Qui Parle Lake Association has been involved in funding numerous lake projects as well as projects that help aid the outdoor enthusiast. The Lac Qui Parle Lake Association works in conjunction with the Minnesota DNR and has been instrumental in providing funding for walleye stocking programs, fishing piers, boat ramps and rip rap projects on the erodible shorelines of Lac Qui Parle Lake.

There were zero walleyes weighed in during week 7 of fishing league.

End of Year Final Results

The final results for this year's fishing league are officially in, bringing a highly productive season to a close despite a tough Week #7 that saw zero walleyes brought to the scale. Over the course of the season, league anglers caught a total of 117 walleyes weighing in at an impressive 207.66 lbs, resulting in a healthy average weight of 1.77 lbs per fish. The coveted big fish record for the year went to a massive 6.02 lb kicker. Dominating the field to secure first place overall were Dylan Hiepler and Chayse Schuler with a stellar total of 32.03 lbs. Second place was claimed by Lucas Hoium and Garrett Hoium with 18.91 lbs, while Pete McGinty and Shannon Larson took home third place with 14.72 lbs. Rounding out the top five were Cody Enger and Patrick Miller in fourth place with 14.16 lbs, and Josh Weckwerth and Trent Weckwerth in fifth with 13.14 lbs. A special thank you goes out to Corey Joyce, Steve Benson, and Corey Reiffenberger for all of their hard work and dedication in organizing and putting on the fishing league this year.

Week 6 of the fishing league wrapped up with a total of six walleyes caught, weighing in at a combined 16.51 pounds. Lucas Hoium and Garrett Hoium dominated the evening, securing first place with two fish totaling 7.86 pounds, which included the night's impressive 4.95-pound big fish. Garrett Suchanek and Zach Suchanek claimed second place with a single, substantial fish weighing 4.39 pounds. Third place went to Nick Kittelson and Holt Larson with one fish at 1.76 pounds, followed closely by Logan Spray and Mikkal Erickson in fourth place with a 1.31-pound catch. Rounding out the top five, Josh Weckwerth and Trent Weckwerth brought in one fish weighing 1.19 pounds.

Week 5 of the fishing league brought strong south winds and warm temperatures, resulting in a total of 58 walleyes caught weighing 89.39 lbs. Cody Enger and Patrick Miller secured first place by weighing in a 5-fish limit at 8.86 lbs. They narrowly defeated Josh Weckwerth and Trent Weckwerth, who took second place with 5 fish for 8.80 lbs. Third place went to Logan Spray and Mikkal Erickson with 5 fish for 8.32 lbs. Team Johnson claimed fourth place with 2 fish for 7.22 lbs, and they also landed the big fish of the night with an impressive 6.02 lb walleye. Rounding out the top five were Dylan Hiepler and Chayse Schuler, who weighed in 5 fish for 7.19 lbs.
