Beacon and Simpson Elementary Families,
The Montesano PTO would like to thank all of our families, staff, and community members who have supported our schools and students throughout the years. Your participation and generosity have helped us provide meaningful experiences and opportunities for our children.
As we begin planning for the 2026–2027 school year, we want to share an important update. The Montesano PTO is currently seeking new board members and parent/staff volunteers to help lead and support our organization. Over the past several years, we have experienced a significant decline in volunteer participation, making it increasingly difficult to organize and successfully run many of our larger events.
Due to our limited volunteer capacity, the PTO has made the difficult decision to reduce the number of Family Fun Nights and community events offered during the 2026–2027 school year. While we know these events are enjoyed by many families, we simply do not have enough volunteers to continue hosting them at the level needed for them to be successful and sustainable. As a result, events such as Bingo Night will not be returning next year.
The PTO will continue to offer many of the programs and activities that require fewer volunteers, and we will focus our efforts on providing student enrichment opportunities directly to students during the school day. Our goal is to ensure that we can continue supporting our schools and students while rebuilding our volunteer base.
We are hopeful that this reduced calendar will allow us to recruit new members, strengthen our organization, and eventually bring back additional family events in the future.
