In Monterey County, income and opportunity can look very different from one neighbor to the next. But love for a pet is something we share—a bond that brings joy, comfort, friendship, and companionship into our lives.

Friends of Hitchcock Road Animal Services is working to support that bond by helping reduce adoption and pet-retention fees, and by supporting spay and neuter clinics and animals in need of extra medical care at HRAS. These services can make a meaningful difference for people who love their pets but are facing the growing costs of caring for them.

Please help us keep pets and the people who love them together. Pets remind us how to be present, loyal, and kind—and we become better humans when we learn from them.

Dom was a beloved pet, but when his owner passed away, no friends or family were able to take him in. He came to Hitchcock Road Animal Services, and after waiting for a while, he finally found a foster home. Now, at eight years old, Dom is hoping for someone to choose him again.

He has an Instagram account all to himself, , where you can follow his foster adventures. Dom has been waiting since May for his forever home, and because of his long wait, his adoption fee is just $50.
