Today! Our club members, joined by members of the Carmel Valley Rotary Club, after a hike at Palo Corona Regional Park in Carmel Valley. Also included in photo are representatives of the Ventana Wilderness Alliance, who led the hike.

Last night club members had a great time gathering with about 30-35 fellow Rotarians and friends as part of the Alex Hubbard Invitational Golf Tournament, The rain halted just in time for a 3 pm tee off and we finish with dinner around 7pm. Thanks to Cris Cabanillas, Jonathan Geisler, Debi Kennedy, Nels Wiegand, and Erin White for helping pull this gathering together!!

President Eric Johnsen shared the following limerick to wrap up the festivities:

A bunch of wild Rotarians played,
In pouring rain they swung and prayed.
They sliced through the muck,
With plenty of luck,
And sand every putt they essayed.

On Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 10:00 AM-12:30 PM at the Oldemeyer Center in Seaside, District 5230 is hosting a Community Awareness Fair featuring 12 local nonprofits serving Monterey County. This event will be a perfect opportunity to explore potential service projects, meet community partners, and introduce prospective members to Rotary's mission. Refreshments provided. At today's meeting, we heard from representatives of our sister city in Japan (Nanao) (top photo) who discussed their efforts to recover from the earthquake there on January 1, 2024. Following this presentation we heard from three newer members--Adam Tight (upper right), Tony Baker (lower right), and Brad Barbeau (lower left) who shared their life stories as part of our regular "COG Biographies" program.
