Our Mission

To Educate the community about the value of recognizing, preserving, securing, and displaying the Monterey area's historic assets for public benefit. To Support activities which interpret and share the Monterey area's rich cultural heritage with residents and visitors. To Encourage residents to be advocates for ideas, programs, and plans which contribute to the understanding of the Monterey area's cultural, ethnic, artistic, and architectural legacy.

The levee breech and flooding of the Pajaro River in 2023 caused devastating damage to much of the Pajaro community, including the library housed in a National Register-listed mansion.
Monterey County stepped up. They undertook a major restoration program, respecting the building’s historic features. It is well on its way to reopening, a vital part of revitalizing the Pajaro community.
The annual meeting will also include board elections and an opportunity to renew your membership in person.
