Think about the person in your unit who always shows up.
The one who drives every time. Who stayed late to clean up the pavilion. Who took the den nobody else would take. Who has quietly assumed for years that nobody noticed.
On December 10, we can fix that.
The Santa Lucia District Volunteer Recognition Banquet is coming, and nominations are open now.
Two ways to put someone forward:
UNIT SCOUTER OF THE YEAR
Every pack, troop, crew, ship, and post can nominate one. No form. Just email John Callan at [email protected] and tell him who and why.
DISTRICT AWARD OF MERIT
Our highest district honor. Fill out the form and email it to John.

Nominations close November 30th.
Watching someone hear their own name in a room full of their peers, after years of assuming nobody was paying attention — that's the whole point of the night.
Somebody in your unit has earned it. Take five minutes and send the email.
