The Young Professionals Conclave had a great week in Monterey for SRM annual meeting, 2026. From meaningful conversations to coastal adventures, it was a reminder of what makes this community so special. 👥🌾🪻

Highlights from the week:

• Bridging the gap between young professionals and industry leaders 🤝

• Our first-ever YPC Business Dinner, a new tradition!

• The best YPC fun run yet. We endured the rain & were rewarded with t-shirts! 🏃🏼

• A great turnout for the Young Producers Forum 🤠

• Members sharing photos from their SRM adventures, including tours in Hawaii and the surrounding area 🚌

• A big thank you to everyone who contributed to our wild rag fundraiser. Your support helps keep YPC opportunities going! 🧣

Thanks to our members who made the week memorable. We still look forward to seeing your photos from SRM and beyond ➡️ send them to be featured!

As we continue sharing updates from the Annual Meeting, YPC would like to take a brief pause to acknowledge a meaningful moment for the rangelands community. At the Idaho Ag Summit, Idaho Governor Brad Little (left) declared 2026 to be the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists in Idaho. 🌍

This declaration was made during the Governor’s Luncheon and was presented by Steve Stuebner and Gretchen Hyde. The luncheon honored those who have dedicated their careers to agriculture and range management.

As young professionals we are honored to be involved in such a pivotal year and look forward to continuing to represent and steward our rangelands well! 🤝

Calving is almost in full swing and we could use another set of hands!
This position provides ample opportunity to get hands on experience in both cattle management practices and research. You'll get a full circle experience where you get to help from when the calves first hit the ground to then helping breed up our cattle herd in the spring.
We have a great team here at the Nancy M. Cummings Center and we hope to continue adding to it!
