What will future generations say they inherited from us?

As part of the Safe, Clean Water Program, we held a community-led concept development meeting to hear what residents from Panorama City and North Hills would like to see in their neighborhoods. Over 70 participants attended the meeting. All attendees participated in our Safe, Clean Water Program activities.

Through the Safe, Clean Water Program, organizations like ours empowered LA residents with the knowledge and resources to understand the County’s Safe, Clean Water Program (SCWP) stormwater capture mission and help achieve its goals in various ways. We conducted scooping walks, nature trips, educational trainings and film nights to educate the public about how rain flows through our urban watershed and engage community members on how stormwater infrastructure can add green space to mitigate flooding risks in their neighborhoods.

Let’s throw it back to our SELA Seedball Bike Ride real quick! 🐝🚲🌱

In April, we had so much fun cruising along the LA River and learning how important native flowers are to pollinators. We highlighted spaces like the Cudahy River Park as a green space and the Cudahy Library to pick up all kinds of seeds for your garden (or your seedballs 🤭).

📢 Nature for All is hiring a Coalition, Advocacy & Organizing Manager.

This position will play a key leadership role in advancing Nature for All's efforts to protect public lands and build a broad, diverse base of support for nature across Los Angeles County. The Manager will coordinate the Nature for All Coalition, strengthen partnerships, and help lead collaborative advocacy campaigns focused on protecting the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument and other public lands vital to the health and well-being of our communities.

Working alongside community leaders, coalition partners, public agencies, and allies, this individual will advocate for increased investment in our public lands, coordinate stewardship and community engagement efforts, and mobilize residents to participate in campaigns, public meetings, outdoor events, and volunteer activities that advance conservation and equitable access to nature.

We're looking for a collaborative relationship-builder with experience in coalition building, community organizing, and advocacy who is passionate about protecting our public lands and ensuring that future generations can experience and care for them.

Raids continue throughout the region, affecting our communities, forests, and local parks.

Nature for All is taking as many precautions as possible without compromising our commitment to equitable access to the outdoors. At the same time, we know many families continue to live in fear. Ongoing immigration raids disrupt neighborhoods, separate loved ones, and create barriers that prevent families from fully participating in community activities. These realities have lasting impacts on physical and mental health, community trust, and people's ability to safely access parks, trails, public lands, and other spaces that support community, healing, recreation, and well-being.

We believe thriving communities begin with belonging. Everyone deserves to feel safe, welcomed, and connected. Equitable access to nature is only possible when people feel secure enough to enjoy the parks, open spaces, and public lands that belong to all of us.

We continue to stand with immigrant families and our community partners in advancing a future where every person is treated with dignity and respect, where families remain together, and where everyone has the opportunity to experience the health, well-being, and sense of belonging that nature provides. Environmental justice begins with people. We remain committed to building healthier, more resilient communities where every child, every family, and every neighborhood can thrive.

Over the past month, we took San Fernando Valley residents on a series of outdoor beach trips to escape the high temperatures in their communities. During the trip, we asked how they stay cool at home and what they would like to see in their neighborhoods to stay cooler.

California State Parks is currently taking public comments on a proposed amendment to L.A. State Historic Park's general plan that would allow a gondola to use park land and airspace.

Please join us in writing to State Parks today to urge them not to change LA State Historic Park's general plan. The gondola would fundamentally damage core values identified in the park's existing general plan — including its precious open space and the unobstructed views of the downtown Los Angeles skyline that define the park's character and draw visitors from across the region. A massive gondola station would take public land and block the southwestern entrance to the park. This reduction of public land and airspace is contrary to the original purpose of the park and to statewide efforts to expand protected public lands to 30% of the state by 2030.
