LAMP (Los Angeles - Monterey Park) Optimist Club has been serving the youth of the community since 1957. Current community programs include an essay contest, speech contest, Easter Egg Hunt, Annual Friend of Youth Dinner honoring leading citizens, Internet Safety Program and co-sponsorship of community events. We promote an interest in good government, respect for law, promote patriotism and aid
and encourage the development of youth in the belief that giving of one's self in service to others will advance the well-being of the community. We are a non-sectarian organization open to men and women over the age of 18 years
