Meet two more of our breakout session speakers for the 2026 PIHRA Emerging Leaders Summit happening this Saturday, August 22 from 11am - 3pm at East Los Angeles College!

⭐ Devin C. Hughes is a speaker, author, educator, and organizational culture strategist with more than 25 years of industry and consulting experience. In his session, “Read the Room. Build the Room. Lead the Room.,” Devin will take a fresh look at executive presence and why it’s about much more than polish or charisma. He’ll discuss the science and everyday behaviors that build trust and credibility, as well as how emerging leaders can create spaces where people feel comfortable sharing ideas and contributing.

⭐ Ribka Fox is a Vice President and Chief People Officer, with more than 25 years of HR consulting and leadership experience across the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. During “From HR Coordinator to CHRO,” Ribka will provide guidance on the skills, behaviors, and competencies needed to succeed at each stage of an HR career. Attendees will learn what businesses and leaders look for in HR candidates and how to develop their experience to reach the next level.

⭐ Dr. Mia Basic is a global strategic HR executive with more than 20 years of experience partnering with senior leaders across healthcare and life sciences. In her session, “10 Career Lessons I Wish Someone Had Told Me at 22,” Mia will explore how the journey into HR is rarely a straight line and how some of the most important career lessons come from experiences no textbook can teach. Through personal stories, from navigating career transitions and executive leadership to embracing AI and the future of work, Mia will share ten lessons she wishes she had learned earlier in her career.

⭐ Lindsay Benitez is an executive coach, speaker, and former HR executive with 15 years of experience in HR and leadership development. During “The Confident Communicator,” Lindsay will discuss how your voice has the power to open doors and expand what’s possible in your career. Participants will examine how the way they communicate with themselves shapes their confidence, and how the way they communicate with others shapes their influence and executive presence. Participants will leave with tools to communicate with greater clarity and authenticity, and show up with confidence at any level.
