Our community partner, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses 🌹🌹🌹 together with the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles, invites children ages 4 through 18 to join in their third annual Dia de los Mu***os Art Competition. 🌹💀

Selected artwork will be displayed at the Tournament House and winners will be recognized at an outdoor reception. Winners, in three age categories, will receive cash prizes. 💰

Masterpieces can take any shape as long as it celebrates and honors Día de los Mu***os traditions.

🌺 y 🐸 contrajeron matrimonio en Coyoacán el 21 de agosto de 1929. Rivera medía 30 centímetros más que Kahlo, pesaba tres veces más y tenía el doble de su edad.

Kahlo, posteriormente, narró: “ ...me enamoré de Diego, lo cual no les pareció a los míos, pues Diego era comunista (...). Afirmaban que era un casamiento entre un elefante y una paloma...”

La banderola que sostiene la paloma de esta obra, dice "Aquí nos veis, a mí, Frida Kahlo, junto con mi amado esposo Diego Rivera. Pinté estos retratos en la bella ciudad de San Francisco, California, para nuestro amigo Mr. Albert Bender y fue en el mes de abril del año 1931".
