Our Pre-opera Serenades are yet another chance to showcase our Resident Artists. Before Saturday's performance of Macbeth we paid tribute to Verdi's longest-serving librettist, Francesco Maria Piave, with arias composed by leading composers of the day including Verdi himself.

Being a cover is a great opportunity for a singer to learn a role — and it can be a game changer for a company if a singer gets sick or is otherwise unable to perform. In 2019, we had just such an instance: a singer lost their voice near the end of Act I, and their cover was asked to step in for Act II, with only intermission to prepare! That singer was Vincent Graña, who you can hear this year singing Alessio in La Sonnambula.

Check out these photos from yesterday's La Sonnambula cover run. One more day until the audience gets to enjoy Bellini's beautiful work

One of the standout features of our Young Artist Program is the opportunity for the singers to have two full cover runs—one focused on music in the rehearsal hall, and another onstage with full lights, projections, and costumes.

This morning, the covers of Macbeth took the stage—and they absolutely slayed it!

Don't miss your chance to experience their talent firsthand: arrive 90 minutes before the downbeat of this weekend’s mainstage operas to enjoy pre-opera serenades from these rising stars.

Did you know Verdi was a lover of dogs?

One of his favorite companions was Lulu, a Maltese gifted to him "possibly" from Francesco Maria Piave (the Librettist of Macbeth!)

So, in honor of Verdi and his favorite companion, Lulu, we asked everyone at TN to share their dogs with us. Here's a few of our furry friends and their Humans.
