Being a cover is a great opportunity for a singer to learn a role — and it can be a game changer for a company if a singer gets sick or is otherwise unable to perform. In 2019, we had just such an instance: a singer lost their voice near the end of Act I, and their cover was asked to step in for Act II, with only intermission to prepare! That singer was Vincent Graña, who you can hear this year singing Alessio in La Sonnambula.

Our mission is twofold: First, to offer exciting revivals of neglected Bel Canto masterworks alongside freshly re-studied interpretations of familiar favorites, with virtuoso singing at the highest level allied to an interpretation that does justice to each opera’s dramatic content, structure, and style. Second, to train the rising generation of musicians in the special skills and knowledge required to bring this thrilling repertory to life. Performances at Jazz @ Lincoln Center, SUNY Purchase, and the Church of the Heavenly Rest.
