Earlier this month, members from across the country gathered in Washington, D.C., for the biannual AFT National Convention.

AFTNJ President Jennifer Higgins said members were "ready to take the next steps with AFT to fight to defend our democracy." She also recognized Laurie LeFever for highlighting the Montclair State adjunct union's voter engagement efforts and applauded Rutgers URA-AFT's Josephine Nagle, AFT Local 6025's Alyssa Nittolo-Harris, and AFT Local 2222's Cindy Simon for becoming Democracy Defenders ahead of the midterm elections.

💙 Together, we're organizing, educating, and defending democracy.
