This quote reflects the spirit of AmeriCorps. Through service, our AmeriCorps members discover that giving back isn’t just a task to complete, but rather it’s an opportunity to care for the people and places that make our communities thrive.

At our July monthly meeting, members of the Healthy Communities Corps spent the day volunteering at Montclair History Center and Montclair Community Farms ! 🌱 They removed invasive vines and overgrowth, learning how this important maintenance supports healthy crops that will be harvested to help feed the community. To top it all off, they got to feed and hold the farm’s chickens! 🐓

Trenton Thunder Ballpark! ⚾️

On this (very) hot, summer day at the end of June, our AmeriCorps members met up with other programs from across the state of New Jersey to celebrate the end of another successful program year. We got to relax, learn about several members’ individual experiences, tour this minor league stadium, and play some fun games!

On Friday, March 13th our AmeriCorps members closed out AmeriCorps week by cleaning up Paterson Skatepark. Members worked in teams of three to five people collecting trash, sharing experiences, and making memories with other AmeriCorps members. By the end of the clean up, the group had collected 11 full bags of garbage, an estimated 30 pounds of debris removed from the environment!

We are so thankful for all the hard work that our AmeriCorps members do and glad we got to spend some time with each other 💙
