The excitement is in the air as The Brandywiners Chorale have their first rehearsal of the Fall season next Tuesday, September 8th!

After 38 years it’s always heart-warming to have that first rehearsal back at Aldersgate where our Chorale members not only get to see see each other after the summer break but we get to some possible new and returning faces join the Chorale.

If you love to sing and want to share that love through music, outreach, and community connection then come join us for an Open Call audition!

Under the direction of Darrin Peters, our Chorale brings Broadway, contemporary, folk, and seasonal music to life with a fresh program each season. And they don’t just perform onstage. They bring joy directly into the community, singing everywhere from retirement centers to Winterthur Museum & Garden to the Ronald McDonald House.

If you have interest in learning more about the Chorale or are interested in auditioning with us, please contact our Director, Darrin Peters to confirm which open call audition you can make. He can be reached at (302) 897-5751 or e-mail [email protected].

We’ve been having so much fun revealing our programming through Fall 2027 and your reactions, your enthusiasm, and your support are fueling us every step of the way.

Every comment, every share, every burst of excitement reminds us why we do what we do and inspires us to keep delivering on our mission:

🎵 To produce high‑quality musical productions featuring diverse artists who showcase their talents for all to enjoy.
❤️ To offer year‑round programming that provides unique experiences including Broadway‑caliber entertainment while operating with a social‑cause focus to support the broader arts community.

We want to wish all our family, friends, students, teachers, staff, volunteers and more a happy 2026-2027 school year!

Since we’re in full Sondheim mode with our upcoming production of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” we felt this lyric below is perfect for the start of the school year.

"It's our time, breathe it in: worlds to change and worlds to win."
(Merrily We Roll Along)

We can’t wait to see all the amazing things to come out of our communities with an extraordinary school year on the horizon!

This October our Second Stage director, Lee Lewis, makes history as “A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum”becomes the 10th Sondheim title he adds to his directing career!

With 12 Sondheim productions already under his belt there’s truly no one more deserving of a spotlight than someone whose passion for the legendary composer‑lyricist runs deep.

As Lee put it in his “Getting To Know The Creative Team” spotlight earlier this month, “I've also always loved Sondheim, so the opportunity to work on one of his shows was something I couldn't pass up…Sondheim's work has had such a profound influence on how I think about musical theatre.”

Below, you’ll find the full breakdown of Lee’s incredible Sondheim journey so far.

Will you be in the audience for history to be made when “Forum” takes the stage October 29th- November 1st?

The only correct answer? YES you’ll be there.

“Isn’t It Kinda Fun” to reminisce about a past show?

Especially when it’s the perfect day to throw back to it!

On August 29th, 1945 the musical film, State Fair (music and lyrics by Rodgers and Hammerstein), premiered. The film went on to win an Academy Award for Best Music (Song) for “It Might As Well Be Spring.”

What fun memories do you have from our 1999 production of State Fair? Who would you like to give a special to from this show? Have any pictures from your State Fair experience?

Tell us all about it in the comments!
