Happy Birthday to our very own Elaine O’Connell!

You may know Elaine as the warm face who welcomes you into auditions and sets the tone for a relaxing, nerve-free experience.

Or maybe you know her as the heart of our volunteer program helping organize the hundreds of participants interested in helping make our productions, our concerts, and special events the success they are each year.

Or maybe you know her as a dedicated Brandywiners Board member who has called The Brandywiners home since 1987.

However you may have had the pleasure of getting to know Elaine it can’t be denied how special of a person she is and how meaningful of an impact she has made in our Brandywiners organization.

Elaine, we are truly thankful for all you have done for us and are grateful for your warm, friendly presence wherever you go.

Celebrate National Children’s Day with The Brandywiners!

Today we’re shining a spotlight on some of the incredible young performers who help bring our 2026 production of Brigadoon to life — our Youth Ensemble, Featured Dancers, and Dance Corps members.

Not only are they talented beyond compare, but they remind us every day that the Brandywiners’ future is bright, joyful, and full of possibility.

To quote a popular musical, “Even if you’re little, you can do a lot.” (Matilda: The Musical)

And wow… do our kids prove that true.

The celebration begins as history and the arts come together at the 250Ride.org Gala at Thousand Acre Farm.

Following a day retracing Caesar Rodney’s legendary journey, guests will welcome his arrival during cocktail hour for a memorable evening of connection and storytelling.

Set against a scenic backdrop, the gala highlights the artistic spirit of the region with live harp and violin by Ruth and Caleb Thompson, alongside curated food, wine, and immersive historical experiences.

The Brandywiners are proud to support and participate in this event, honoring the role of the arts in bringing history to life and strengthening community.

Blending music, performance, and heritage, the evening celebrates the people and moments that shaped our nation—marking America’s 250th anniversary with creativity, culture, and shared pride.

Today we celebrate the one and only Andrew Cox — Brandywiners board member by title, social media giant by reputation, and genuinely good human by default.

Andrew somehow manages to navigate life and all he does with wisdom, wit, and the level of kindness that makes everyone around him better. If there were an award for “Most Likely to Know What’s Going On and Also Make You Laugh About It,” he’d have it framed already.

Here’s to another year of sharp insights, strong leadership, and posts that somehow say exactly what the rest of us were trying to say—but lots better.

Happy Birthday, Andrew. May your notifications be kind, your coffee strong, and your impact continue to shine!

🎉It’s a very special day in Brigadoon!

This morning, we’re celebrating the birthday of Frederick Loewe, the brilliant composer behind Brigadoon.

Born on June 10, 1901, Loewe is best remembered for his legendary collaborations with Alan Jay Lerner on classics like My Fair Lady, Gigi, Camelot, Paint Your Wagon, and of course… Brigadoon.

We cannot wait to bring his gorgeous score to life this July. Here’s hoping we sing loudly — and beautifully — enough under the stars at Longwood Gardens for Mr. Loewe himself to hear from the heavens above.

✨ But that’s only one birthday we’re celebrating today…
