Montauk Point, New York is a sleepy, scenic fishing hamlet situated on the eastern end of Long Island. s Vineyard, Massachusetts. Since Long Island protrudes so far out into the Atlantic Ocean, we are the closest port to the canyons and Gulfstream
in the entire Northeast. This make any offshore adventure for tuna, shark or marlin a relatively short trip. At the same time, all of Long Island Sound flows past Montauk with each ebb and flow of every tide. This provides for vast amounts of bait and nutrients to build up inshore which attracts and holds great schools of inshore gamefish such as trophy striped bass, slammer bluefish and doormat fluke. What better way to spend your leisure time than going fishing? You and your friends and family can spend a relaxing day in the sun with the possibility of catching a really big one, a fish of a lifetime. The Montauk Boatmen Inc is the largest group of full time professional charter and party boat captains sailing out of the same port in the entire country. The waters of Montauk are quite productive, giving up more world record fish than any other port - truly the "SPORTFISHING CAPITAL OF THE WORLD". Unlike most fishing areas, Montauk is surrounded by three distinct and totally different bodies of water. From the calm protected waters of Fort Pond Bay and Gardiner’s Bay through Block Island Sound to the Atlantic Ocean, many different species of fish can be found to suit any angler.Montauk also provides some of the finest restaurants, resorts, motels and beaches in the world as well as an excellent golf course that is open to the public.
