Eight days later, I’m still thinking about Talkeetna Pride Fest. 🌈

Thank you to everyone who showed up in the rain to be together as a community, and thank you for making me feel right at home after being away for 5 months.

A huge thank you, once again, to Sarah Loreth for so beautifully documenting this year’s celebration. These photos preserve moments that we’ll be able to look back on for years to come, and I’m so grateful for the care and talent she brought to capturing the day.

Thank you, Talkeetna, for continuing to show that self-expression, love, and community are always worth celebrating. I’ll be looking at these photos and smiling for a long, long time. ❤️

For the second year in a row, Mountain High kept us well-fed with an incredible Pride lunch, and we couldn't be more grateful. If you've ever eaten there, you know they put so much care into everything they make.

Thank you, Mountain High, for being such an important part of this community and for helping make Talkeetna Pride Fest 2026 special. We appreciate you more than words can say. 💜

More moments from Talkeetna Pride Fest 2026. 🌈 Another huge thank you to Sarah Loreth for so beautifully capturing the joy, connection, and community that filled Talkeetna on Saturday.

As I share these memories, I’ve also been thinking a lot about the future of Talkeetna Pride.

When I moved to Girdwood, I made the decision to keep organizing this year’s festival because I love this community deeply and wanted to make sure Pride continued. But Talkeetna Pride deserves to be led by people who call Talkeetna home. The strongest community events are built by the communities they’re meant to serve.

So, if you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to help,” this is your sign. Whether you want to take on a leadership role or join an organizing committee, I’d love to hear from you. You don’t have to have experience, just a willingness to care about this community and help create a space where everyone feels welcome. I had no experience when I started, but I had so many people to call on for help. If you’ve been one of those people for me, thank you. ❤️

Talkeetna Pride belongs to the community, and I hope this year’s Pride Fest inspires a few new people to help carry it forward. I would love nothing more than to pass the crochet crown to a team of fresh faces with fresh ideas, so this celebration can continue to grow for years to come. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

And that's a wrap on Talkeetna Pride Fest 2026... my heart is so full of love. 🌈

This is the first of several posts to come from Saturday, and I still can't get over how grateful I am to everyone who showed up in spite of the rain. What an honor it was to march, dance, laugh, hug old friends, make new ones, and be reminded of why this event matters so much.💛

A huge thank you to our incredible photographer, Sarah Loreth, for capturing these moments so beautifully. To me, these photos tell the story of the day in a way that words never could.📸

To every volunteer who gave their time, every sponsor who supported this event, every community partner, and every single person who came out to celebrate with us: thank you. Talkeetna Pride Fest only exists because so many people choose to make it happen together.

I am endlessly grateful for this community, so thank you, Talkeetna, for welcoming me back home for the weekend. Thank you for showing up for one another and for creating a space where people could feel welcomed, celebrated, and loved exactly as they are.

🌈 CALLING FUTURE TALKEETNA PRIDE ORGANIZERS 🌈

Pride doesn’t happen by accident; it happens because people care.

I’m moving out of town and am looking for a couple of committed folks who want to help carry Pride forward this year. I’ll gladly share resources, timelines, lessons learned, and ongoing support, so you’re not starting from scratch. Several of the wonderful humans in this photo who worked on Pride last year will also be there to make it happen again. You won’t be going at it alone– you’ll be part of an amazing, experienced team.

Pride doesn’t have to be perfect– it just has to exist. Now more than ever.
