🌈 CALLING FUTURE TALKEETNA PRIDE ORGANIZERS 🌈

Pride doesn’t happen by accident; it happens because people care.

I’m moving out of town and am looking for a couple of committed folks who want to help carry Pride forward this year. I’ll gladly share resources, timelines, lessons learned, and ongoing support, so you’re not starting from scratch. Several of the wonderful humans in this photo who worked on Pride last year will also be there to make it happen again. You won’t be going at it alone– you’ll be part of an amazing, experienced team.

Pride doesn’t have to be perfect– it just has to exist. Now more than ever.

💌 DM us, comment, or email us at [email protected] if you want to help, have questions, or know someone who might. If this matters to you, please reach out. Q***r joy belongs in Talkeetna. 🏳️‍🌈✨

Our sincerest gratitude to the Talkeetna Bachelor Society! 💖

We are incredibly honored to receive a $1,500 grant from the Talkeetna Bachelor Society to support food and live music for our 2026 Talkeetna Pride Fest. This is our first grant ever, and we are deeply grateful for the trust, generosity, and community support behind it.🥹🫶🏻

This grant helps us make Pride more joyful, welcoming, and accessible for everyone. Thank you to the Bachelor Society for believing in us and in the importance of celebrating love, inclusion, and community in Talkeetna. 🌈✨

You do NOT need to be a Palmer resident to make a public comment!!! In fact, Palmer Mayor Cooper said at the October 14th meeting that the City Council values and considers the input of all Mat-Su Borough residents, whether they live within city limits or drive an hour and a half from Talkeetna to speak.

Email your comment to the city clerk if you cannot attend the meeting on October 28th: https://click.everyaction.com/k/117105484/575364956/-2083973585?nvep=ew0KICAiVGVuYW50VXJpIjogIm5ncHZhbjovL3Zhbi9UU00vVFNNSVYvMS8xMTYwMTgiLA0KICAiRGlzdHJpYnV0aW9uVW5pcXVlSWQiOiAiMmVkZTNlNzYtY2JhNi1mMDExLThlNjEtNjA0NWJkZWQ4YmE0IiwNCiAgIkVtYWlsQWRkcmVzcyI6ICJwZXRyaWNoLmhhbm5haEBnbWFpbC5jb20iDQp9&hmac=8KjtRRpYhSc8xikS2ZDU8nAn2ZO2NEZZaP3gJyjUChg=&emci=f6bdccd0-23a6-f011-8e61-6045bded8ba4&emdi=2ede3e76-cba6-f011-8e61-6045bded8ba4&ceid=4128777

⚖️ Another week, another local government trying to pass unconstitutional ordinances.

On Tuesday night (Oct 14), I joined dozens of Mat-Su residents to speak out against Palmer’s proposed camping bans — Ordinances 25-005 and 25-006 — which would make it illegal to sleep or camp on any public property or right-of-way.

These cruel and unconstitutional ordinances would criminalize homelessness in a city with no homeless shelter. Listen to the video or swipe to read my statement to see exactly why that violates the Eighth Amendment.

Our collective voices made an impact — the Council voted to postpone the vote until October 28. That’s a win for now — but it’s not over.

💥 Now’s the time to keep the pressure on.
If you live anywhere in the Mat-Su:
👉 Show up to the next Palmer City Council meeting on October 28
👉 Or email your comment to the City Clerk here: palmerak.org/email-contact/node/18263/field_email

The greatness of a community is measured by how we treat the most vulnerable among us.

Let’s make sure Palmer stands for compassion, dignity, and justice — not cruelty, cyclical poverty, and punishment.

Thank you to , , and everyone who believes in constitutional rights and human dignity for keeping eyes on Palmer.

⚖️ DON'T LOOK AWAY- These ordinances won’t stand up to moral or legal scrutiny.

🔥 TALKEETNA’S NO-KINGS PROTEST — Saturday, October 18 at 12 PM! 🔥
Talkeetna, it’s time to stand up and be counted.
We’re gathering this Saturday to say loud and clear: No Kings. No Dictators. No Authoritarians.
Democracy belongs to the people — and we’re not giving it up without a fight.
💬 The Message:
Bring your passion, your courage, and your signs — but let’s keep our focus on what unites us. Pro-democracy, anti-fascism, anti-Trump, anti-ICE? Absolutely.
But this isn’t about hating our neighbors or attacking conservatives as a whole. This is about protecting the soul of our country and standing shoulder to shoulder for freedom, truth, and justice.
🚗 Parking:
Please park across the street at Tesoro, not in the Brown Bear lot.
🧤 Winter Clothing Drive:
We’ll be collecting warm winter gear for anyone in need — even one pair of socks or gloves makes a difference. Let’s turn protest into care.
🎶 Energy & Sound:
A protest playlist is locked and loaded to keep us fired up! If you’ve got a portable speaker or a megaphone we can borrow, message me!
☕ Fuel for the Fight:
I’ll have hot coffee ready for everyone — if anyone can lend a couple of carafes, I’ll pick them up this week and return them after.
Let’s bring the noise, the warmth, and the heart of Talkeetna to the streets.
See you Saturday at noon. Democracy depends on us — and we’re showing up. 💪❤️🇺🇸

The face of a woman who’s had enough.
Swipe and turn your sound on 🔊 to hear one of many public comments from last night’s Mat-Su Borough Assembly meeting.
Putting “In Memory of Charlie Kirk” on our official ballot pamphlets breaks the rule of neutrality—plain and simple.
Your voice matters. Use it.
And yes, this page is now about more than Pride—because silence isn’t an option anymore.

🗣️ Your voice matters — tonight!
The Borough’s 2025 election pamphlet includes quotes about freedom of expression we fully support — but it also singles out Charlie Kirk, a highly partisan figure. That reads like an endorsement, and it’s not okay.
If you agree, speak up at the MSB Assembly meeting tonight (Tuesday, Oct 7):
📍 350 E Dahlia Ave, Palmer
🕕 Arrive by 5:45 pm to sign up for public comment (3 min limit)
📞 Can’t attend? Call 1-855-225-2326 and press *3 when it’s time to speak.
Let’s remind our representatives that free speech belongs to everyone — not just one side.

We will never stop fighting for you. You make the world a better place, and you are NOT alone. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈
