✨Youth Volunteer Spotlight ✨
A big thank you to Elle, a 7th grader at Alverno Heights Academy, for supporting our volunteers with snacks and handwritten notes of encouragement! đź’™

At just 12 years old, Elle found a meaningful way to give back, helping make our volunteers feel appreciated and supported. Those thoughtful notes of encouragement went a long way in brightening the day of everyone on site.

As Elle’s father, Paul, shared, “Habitat for Humanity is a long-standing and valuable organization that helps our community and is a great place to volunteer. We really appreciate that Habitat makes opportunities available to youth of all ages in such a flexible way.”

Did you know? Youth as young as 14 years old can volunteer at the Pasadena ReStore, and 16-year-olds can begin volunteering on our construction sites. 🏠

Have a young person who isn’t quite old enough for those opportunities yet? Check out our Youth Volunteer Program and incentives at sgvhabitat.org or visit the link in our bio to learn more about ways they can get involved.

Thank you, Elle, for helping build a stronger community—one encouraging note at a time! ✨

The homes weren’t the only iconic part of Altadena, the trees told a story of their own. 🌳

Following the Eaton Fire, families lost not only their homes but also the mature tree canopy that helped define the community for generations.

Today, thanks to a partnership between SGV Habitat for Humanity, and , the first mature trees are returning to Altadena as part of a larger effort to restore the community’s beloved landscape.
As homes rise again, so does the vision of a greener, stronger Altadena.

“One of the biggest things that it took from our community is the greenery and the canopy that kind of helped define what Altadena was.” — Bryson Reaume, Founder & CEO, Green Fenix

We’re incredibly honored to share that San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity has been named a 2026 California Nonprofit of the Year by Assemblymember John Harabedian ()🎉

This recognition belongs to every volunteer who picked up a hammer, every donor who gave generously, every partner who showed up, and every family who trusted us to be part of their journey. Together, we’re creating affordable homeownership opportunities, rebuilding communities, and helping restore hope across the San Gabriel Valley and Altadena.

As we continue rebuilding after the Eaton Fire and working alongside families to create strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter, this honor reminds us that the work we do is only possible because of our community.

Thank you for believing in our mission and being part of this journey with us. We’re just getting started. 🏡💙

Kimberly’s home in Altadena made it through the Eaton Fire—but she knew her story didn’t end there. ❤️

Instead of stepping back, she stepped up.

She joined us for Women Build Community Day to give her time, her energy, and her heart to help rebuild alongside neighbors who are still finding their way home. 🏡

This is what community looks like. Showing up for each other. Rebuilding together.

Travelers () showed up in a powerful way for Women Build in Altadena—just as they did in the earliest days after the fires. 🔨✨

Now, they’re back—this time helping rebuild. Their team jumped in with full force, painting siding, tackling hands-on work, and moving this home closer to completion with every step. The energy, teamwork, and commitment they brought to the site made a real impact you could feel.

It’s more than showing up—it’s showing up again. We’re grateful for partners like Travelers who stand with this community through every phase of recovery. 🏡💛

🩷 Shoutout to U.S. Bank () for showing up with purpose, energy, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed at our second Altadena rebuild. From cutting wood to painting siding, their team didn’t just help move the build forward—they fully embraced what Women Build is all about. 💪💕

Taking time away from their everyday roles, they stepped onto site ready to learn new skills, give back, and stand alongside women working toward homeownership.

This is more than a build day—it’s people coming together to create opportunity, restore stability, and rebuild Altadena, one home at a time.

Thank you, U.S. Bank, for showing up in such a meaningful way. 🩷🏡
