Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is an all-volunteer 501(C)(3) non-profit that builds, delivers, and sets up twin beds for families with children, 3-17 years old, who are sleeping on the floor, a couch, or with parents or siblings.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace's goal is: "No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town".


SHP currently has twin beds with NEW sturdy frames, mattresses, sheet sets, quilts or blankets, and pillows that our volunteers are Ready to Deliver and set them up for families Free of Charge. The beds can be set up as singles or bunks.

There are no income requirements for receiving beds but the family must live in a Frederick County zip code our chapter serves and have an open space 82 inches by 43 inches where the bed can be assembled. Our delivery coordinator will verify the address and work out a mutually agreed upon date and time for delivery.

The beds are a gift to the family and theirs to donate forward to another child when their family's need for it is completed. We believe a child sleeping in their own bed will awaken more rested and ready to face the challenges of the day, and will experience fewer Academic, Health and Behavioral issues.

Partnering with the community, our local SHP chapter has raised over 3000 of our neighbor's children off the floor and into beds of their own.
