Cassandra King, 2025 Harper Lee Award winner 🏆📚

The Harper Lee Award for Alabama’s Distinguished Writer is presented annually to a writer of great distinction from Alabama or with strong literary ties to Alabama. It is awarded by the Monroeville Literary Festival and selected by a committee of writers and scholars from around the state of Alabama. It is intended to be a lifetime achievement award honoring writers who have achieved success and who have been recognized by other professionals in their field. Recipients are awarded a cash prize and a bronze clocktower trophy sculpted by Frank Fleming in the fashion of the Monroe County Courthouse clocktower, described in Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird and in the work of Truman Capote.
