In our Spring 2026 Small Business Survey, we heard from 2,421 small business owners, and the results provide valuable insights into the state of Main Street economies. While many small businesses continue to navigate rising costs, shifting consumer habits, and ongoing uncertainty, the data reveal signs of resilience and cautious optimism. All week long, we’ve celebrated the small businesses that bring character to communities across Alabama. These businesses show up for their customers, their neighbors, and their hometowns in countless ways.

As National Small Business Week comes to a close, we want to say thank you to everyone who took time to like, share, tag, visit, and support local businesses this week.

In reality, small businesses rely on that support every week of the year. We encourage you to keep choosing local.

We are disappointed to postpone the BOOK IT 5K until June 13th and cancel Second Saturday on the Square for May. The storms have set in and are not expected to clear until noon tomorrow. Have a great weekend and STAY DRY!

Please call the Monroeville Police Dept at 251-575-1400 if you see these two dogs. Numerous friends in the area have lost their pet cats to these dogs.

The weather is not looking good for our Book It 5K and Second Saturday on the Square events this weekend. We will have an update tomorrow at 3PM and will be taking the recommendation of the Monroe County EMA's weather forecast.
