Our Mission

The Junior League of Monroe is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our Organization

Since 1930, members of the Junior League of Monroe have devoted countless volunteer hours to meet the needs of the people and organizations of our co

mmunity. Community leaders have always looked to the Junior League of Monroe for leadership in starting new community programs. As a result, the Junior League of Monroe has often been the catalyst that turned an idea into a success that benefited many in our area. Here are a few examples of programs that we have started in recent years: CASA – Court Appointed Special Advocate, Teen Screen, Shots for Tots, Teen Court, Operation Abstinence, and Project Child.

🔙 Throwback Thursday! 🔙

September is officially here, which means Find the Good Day is right around the corner!

Looking back at the impact our Members have made in our community is a great reminder that meaningful change doesn’t happen overnight. It takes dedication, collaboration, and people who are willing to show up and invest in the place they call home.

We’re proud of what our Members have accomplished and can’t wait to celebrate Find the Good Day on Thursday, September 17!✨

Let’s keep finding the good and making a difference, one act of kindness at a time.

✨ Welcoming Windows is officially underway! ✨

Today I delivered student art packets to the first four schools participating in this project, and I’m excited to finally get started!

Through Welcoming Windows, students will have the opportunity to create artwork for their own school entrance. A winning design from each school will be selected, brought to life on the school’s windows, and the student artist will even get to help me with the painting! 🎨

I’m incredibly grateful to Herons on the Bayou and the The Junior League of Monroe for making this project possible!

They spent the weekend learning, growing, and connecting with Junior League members from across the country while gaining new ideas and skills to bring back to our League.

Jessi Carter Creative presents... Welcoming Windows!

Jessi Carter is a self-taught artist, wife, and mom of four. Through her business, Jessi Carter Creative, she creates joyful murals and painted windows for schools, churches, and businesses throughout North Louisiana. What began as painting windows for her children’s elementary school has grown into a career centered around creativity, connection, and creating spaces that bring people together.

Supported by the Herons on the Bayou grant program and The Junior League of Monroe, Jessi’s project, Welcoming Windows, will partner with schools across Ouachita Parish to create colorful window artwork designed to celebrate each school’s unique spirit. In addition to the artwork, students will have opportunities to share their creativity through an art contest and participate in the painting process, making each installation a community collaboration.

By combining art with student involvement, Jessi hopes to cultivate joy, strengthen school pride, and create welcoming spaces that remind students, teachers, and staff that they are part of something special.

We are so excited about this project!
